Servo motor common failure analysis summary

In industrial production, machinery and equipment will affect due to different working environment and production factors, common faults servo motor will appear, maintenance handling skills as follows:

1, ran phenomenon

Appears in the feed traverse phenomena, speed signal instability, such as cracks encoder; poor contact terminals, such as a screw loosening; ran when the commutation moment occurs in the positive direction by the movement of the reverse direction, the general It is due to the reverse feed drive chain or ask gap is too large due to gain servo drive.

2, creeping

Mostly in the acceleration section or the low-speed starting feed, generally due to poor lubrication feed drive chain, a low servo gain and the applied load is too large and other factors. Especially to be noted that, coupled with the servo motor and a ball screw coupling, the connection itself loose coupling or defects, such as cracks, etc., caused by rotation of the ball screw and the servo motor are not synchronized, so that the feed motion unsteadiness.

3, vibration phenomena

The machine running at high speed, vibration may be generated, then it will cause an overcurrent alarm. Machine vibration problems are generally the speed issue, we should look for the speed loop problem.

4, torque reduction phenomenon

Servo motor from the rated torque to stall at high speed, suddenly found to reduce the torque. This is because the heat damage to the motor windings and mechanical parts due to heating. At high speed, the motor temperature increases, and therefore, the load on the motor must be performed prior to checking the proper use of servo motors.

5, the phenomenon of the position error

When the position of the servo axis moves beyond the tolerance range (EA100 factory set PA17: 400, the position detection tolerance range), servo drive appears number "4" position tolerance alarm. The main reasons are: small tolerances set by the system; improper servo gain settings; contamination position detecting means; feed drive chain cumulative errors too large.

6, do not turn phenomenon

CNC system to a servo drive coupling in addition to the signal pulse and direction, as well as enable control signal, typically DC + 24 V voltage relay coil. The servo motor does not turn, the diagnostic methods used are: checking whether the numerical control system output pulse signal; checking enable signal is on; starting condition if the feed axis through the LCD screen geometry input / output state satisfies; on with an electromagnetic brake servo motor brake has been opened confirmation; drive fault; fault servomotor; servo motor and a ball screw coupling fail or key release couplings and the like.
