In 2020, GCC project code and finally completely switched from SVN to Git

After months of delays, GCC plan in the last weekend of the large-scale project to switch from SVN code repository to Git. Originally everyone thought that this time will be delayed again, but in fact, after the team walking non-stop work, they have completely switched from the GCC code repository SVN to Git.

Causes include delays had problems memory ( the RAM ), compatibility problems ( bugs ) and a rewrite Reposurgeon Golang Python code ,

It is understood that the GCC team on Saturday by Eric S Raymond use of Reposurgeon program completed the switch GCC code repository from SVN to Git's.

Because just completed the migration, GCC's code repository has not been re-opened, the process is still under validation. The team said that if all validations have passed and no serious problems on Monday, then the tree will open again. But now it seems, the official said during a normal submission ( trivially commits  performance degradation occurs) when. And for this problem, there has not been any news from the team.

The future, the team will be to develop GCC GCC by using a Git workflow, just like LLVM had also converted from SVN to Git same.
