KDE update features in 2020

Despite the reduced development activities over the past week of New Year celebrations, but KDE developers in the first week of January 2020 still managed to complete a significant amount of development.

KDE developer Nate Graham in his blog in the New Year for a number of new projects were introduced, which include:

  • KIO now disclosed to mount remote location FUSE, so that non-KDE applications can access the data. This will improve the experience VLC, Blender and LibreOffice and other popular applications want to access remote locations, and the KIO and GNOME GVFS functionally equivalent.
  • Thumbnail previews cursor files.
  • KDE Plasma notification system enables the user to reply to a message such as chat applications online.
  • alt-tilde shortcut between the open windows of the current application of the switch will now be run on Wayland.
  • If you rename the trash can, Dolphin will no longer crashes.
  • Elisa improved music player.
