Do we need to test until our software is PERFECT?

What is “good enough” for testing?

 

1, for our team project - music player, is the graphical interface to achieve can play MP3 songs, playlists, before an after a play and other commonly used software functions. In order to enable it to function properly, we launched it a test plan:

① We want to be in the process of project development by the testers to test every part of the code, such as the code window, select the file code and so on.

② We will complete our test version developed in the twelfth week.

③ We are looking for five students as our experience of users, allowing them to be tested by the use of our software development version.

④ our software is good enough standard user simple operation, do not leave occurs, can play the specified file normal, related functions can be better achieved.

 

2. require that only through continuous testing, can be found in the software bug, we can only continue to find Bug, then amended, find Bug, and then patch ...... until we can not find Bug, then we believe that this software is close to perfect improve our capabilities in order to better meet the needs of users.

 

3. there is no perfect (perfect) tested on the project, but there are adapted to suit the product, development environment and quality standards of "good enough" for testing.

It is the formation of a sufficient quality assessment, this process is built on reasonable cost, to support to make informed, timely decisions about products.
It can be decomposed into four parts defined:
Product quality assessment:
How correctness and completeness of the product?
Test price:
How reasonable degree of tested consumed? Whether within the project limits?
Decision:
Assess whether the quality of products and good service in the project business?
Timeliness:
To assess the timeliness of decisions, whether fast enough to play a role?
