Hard drive is an important part of computer hardware equipment, the speed of hard disk storage devices read and write speed can also affect the overall performance of the server. IDE is a mature and stable, inexpensive parallel transmission interface.
SATA is a transmission faster, more complete data check serial transmission interface.
SCSI is a standard for system-level generic interface between the computer and a hard disk device, optical drives and the like, having a system resource occupancy rate, high speed, transmission speed and so on.
No matter what type of hard disk interface, the data on the hard disk is always to exchange data via the bus with the CPU, memory devices on the computer's motherboard, such restrictions on the physical environment to the shared hard disk resources has brought inconveniences. Later, IBM company started working on the development of new storage technology based on TCP / IP protocol and SCSI interface protocol, which is what we are able to see the Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI, Internet Small Computer System Interface ). This is a SCSI interface to storage technology and novel technology combined with Ethernet, SCSI interface can be used to transmit the network command and data. Thus, not only overcomes the physical limitations of a conventional SCSI interface device, to achieve the sharing of resources across a storage area, the storage capacity can be extended in a stop state.
