It has recently been a Raspberry Pi 3B +, followed by side there is the idea of a VR Robot, now becoming the standard ROS robotics industry, has a wealth of learning resources and project case. ROS is currently the only way to learn the robot.
To participate in the first half of the fourth session of NXP outdoor photo contest of the group have come across ROS, it is the first time I have come with Ubuntu Linux, so this time decided to choose Ubuntu as the project in the upper platform, after learning recently learned about different Linux release characteristics, Ubuntu use apt directly related instructions to install some packages, it is currently the major electricity supplier platform for intelligent robot platform of choice, once again strengthened the confidence of the choice of Ubuntu to develop the robot.
But, after all, limited performance raspberry pie, and raspberry pie for the ARM architecture, and common individual PC's x86 architecture is different, so can not be directly installed Ubuntu system; and the official Raspberry Pi system is based on Debian Raspbian, only the first self-burning tripartite system to meet the desire I use Ubuntu.

One of the key of the project is to come running raspberries, raspberry general steps come in the burning process for burning img on TF (Micro SD) card to run, but recently learned that access to information can be used U disk to start the operating system, the more seemingly TF card mode has a greater advantage, it recently no time to study, interested friends can study.
Burn Ubuntu MATE 18.04
The way the burning process is relatively fixed in the TF card, is also very convenient on Windows,
The first step is to format the TF card (Note MATE burn Ubuntu 18 ; .04 least more than 16G TF card, a friend gave me is 16G) on the second step, the downloaded files can be burned to TF card img after completion of the burn TF corresponding to the insertion slot can come raspberries;
a third step of mounting Ubuntu MATE system.
1. Format TF card
格式化TF使用到的软件是 "SDFormatter" ,网上资源很多这里我就不放链接了，百度即可。
格式化时，首先在“Drive”处选择TF卡，然后选择“格式化”，之后一路下一步就行。软件运行界面，与操作顺序如下图所示。
2.烧录img镜像
首先需要下载对于Ubuntu MATE18.04的镜像（https://ubuntu-mate.org/），下载时有个关键步骤需要注意，因为3B+属于64位的ARM，而Ubuntu MATE官网提供32、64位两种不同的镜像，我们需要选择64位，这样会比较流畅（别问我为什么知道，第一次没看清就下载了，都是泪）。
下载好得到的是一个.xz后缀的压缩文件，可以用7-Zip来解压缩，解压后得到.img（如下图）。
随后打开“Win32DiskImager”（百度即可，各版本大同小异），选择刚刚解压出来的.img镜像，接下来点击“写入”，之后等待写入完毕即可。
3.安装Ubuntu MATE18.04
这一步需要外接键鼠及显示器。
树莓派上插入烧录好系统的TF卡后，连上外界HDMI显示器，上电即可进入系统安装界面，安装步骤与标准Ubuntu安装步骤相同：选择语言，设置时区，计算机名、用户名密码等，按照提示一步一步来即可（值得一说的是在树莓派上运行的Ubuntu MATE桌面系统可能会有卡顿的现象是正常情况，比如鼠标点击后画面没有跳转，这个时候需要耐性等待，毕竟树莓派不是PC机，能保留Ubuntu的方便操作就需要很感谢它啦，在SSH树莓派后即不使用图形化界面后就很流畅了，请耐心）。
安装完毕就能看到这个精美的桌面系统了，里面操作同标准Ubuntu完全相同，就是布局有些许不同。
4.番外碎碎念
不知道在读文章的朋友用的什么HDMI屏幕，如果是电脑显示器的话就可以忽略这个碎碎念了，假如是外接的微雪7寸LCD电容屏（7inch HDMI LCD(C)）的话，直接外接可能会出现花屏的现象，如下图，并且你确认自己的硬件都是正常的话，可以尝试如下方案，最终我的花屏是解决了。
其实出现这个问题是因为刚刚烧录好的系统没有适配这款屏幕，需要进行相关设置，这一点在微雪屏幕的官网也是有说明需要在烧录好的TF卡上的system-boot中的config.txt（这个文件就是做HDMI相关配置的），最后加入如下代码来适配树莓派。（参考：http://www.waveshare.net/wiki/7inch_HDMI_LCD_(B)）
