Root Cause Analysis Definition: to determine the cause deviations / defects or risk a technical analysis of the root causes, a fundamental reason may cause a number of variations, defects or risks. Root cause analysis can also be used as a technique for identifying the root cause of the problem and solve the problem. Remove all the root causes, to prevent problems from happening again .

Cause and effect diagram:

The reason talk about the problem statement is decomposed into dispersion branch, the main reason or help identify the root cause of the problem.

the difference:

Root cause analysis is necessary to eliminate causes of the problem, to prevent the problem from happening again, and cause and effect diagram is merely an analysis of the main or root cause, no requirements and instructions how to solve.
