Source of the problem:
Before you modify the default configuration file path IDEA, and then you can not be upgraded when new upgrade version, suggesting that "Failed to prepare an update Temp directory inside installation: ...".
Solution:
1, is positioned to "~ \ IntelliJ IDEA \ bin \ idea.properties" file, comment out two lines to modify the configuration file path "idea.config.path", "idea.system.path".
2, re-open the IDEA, not import the configuration, run on a trial basis.
3, manually check for updates, the update installation.
4, the update is complete recovery "idea.properties" configuration file. Reopen the IDEA.
