KETTLE - (a) Repository

KETTLE to have a rough idea, PDI-ce-6.0.1.0-386 download is complete.

1. Extract pdi-ce-6.0.1.0-386.zip file, double click to run Spoon.bat ( KETTLE is a Java development environment since running JAVA)

2. When you see the initial interface, as shown below (0), a different version of the initial page is basically the same, some will pop-up a connection to the repository before the initial interface, you can not turn off the impact.

(Fig 0)

3. Create Library, Tools -> Resources -> connection to the repository (Ctrl + R), the following flow chart (1)

(figure 1)

Note: MySQL database connection error (missing packet error)

Add mysql-connector-java-5.1.32.jar under ../data-integration/lib directory, you can restart Kettle, remember to return to the fourth step when creating or updating [point], the default password admin.

Note: Oracle Database connection error (missing packet error)

ojdbc6.jar (although with a pack of 14 can be connected, but will complain) Add ../data-integration/lib directory, restart the Kettle to return to the fourth step when creating or updating remember [point], the default password admin.

It is worth noting: If you put two different versions of the package will package null-pointer exceptions, specifically why, I did not get to the bottom. You know please let me know. If all goes well it should be 46 tables.

Summary: The main problem in the connection to the database, the database may be KETTLE support is not very complete, different databases need to manually add our own package, because the database may also be too much of a support, and different versions, so in order to facilitate expansion not a penny in place. There are other online reference, not tested too much, will not be reviewed. More than enough to solve the problem. (Note the version)
