GlusterFS plans to give 32-bit support

RED HAT --

GlusterFS network, with storage file system, developed by RedHat, focused on cloud computing, aimed at deleting 32 (I 686) supports the latest open source software projects.

GlusterFS joined the ranks of a growing number of Linux distributions and other upstream software projects, the main purpose of these projects is to give up or complete cessation of support for 32-bit software. It has recently been proposed to give up the 32-bit platform support for GlusterFS of. Although the initial proposal in the upcoming release of GlusterFS 7, but now more likely to be removed GlusterFS 8 release, either in late 2019 or early 2020.

Like Fedora has integrated this change in their plans, they now plan to see GlusterFS 32-bit support for Fedora 32 is deleted in a new modification.

Finally, GlusterFS of any such change if the actual number of users affected, still surprising, because in some areas there are still 32-bit Linux desktop users running older hardware is the case, see i 686 server is still in production less and less. If the server is still running, then the server probably will not switch to the new software version.
