sosreport command collecting system configuration

sosreport command is used to collect system configuration and schema information and diagnostic output document

 to run sosreport, you need to install sos package. sos package is mostly linux is part of the default installation package. If for some reason is not installed, run the following command yum install sos package:

  # yum install sos -y

Generate reports

  Input terminal sosreport open command:

  # sosreport

  This command would normally be completed in a few minutes. According to local configuration and, in some cases, certain options may take longer to complete. Upon completion, sosreport to generate a compressed file in / tmp directory. Different versions use different compression schemes ( GZ, bz2, or the xz ). The document should be provided to Red Hat support representative (in the case of the normally open as an attachment).

  Note: sosreport need root privileges to run.

This command will collect diagnostic and configuration information from
this Red Hat Enterprise Linux system and installed applications.

An archive containing the collected information will be generated in
/var/tmp and may be provided to a Red Hat support representative.
Any information provided to Red Hat will be treated in accordance with
the published support policies at:

https://access.redhat.com/support/

The generated archive may contain data considered sensitive and its
content should be reviewed by the originating organization before being
passed to any third party.
