Database 12c 2 Release the Oracle (12.2) now Pluggable Databases of the Supports HAVING the Thousands (PDBs) in Container A SINGLE multitenant Database (the CDB).
The Oracle Database Release 12c. 1 (12.1.0.1) Supported up to 252 for each PDBs the CDB.
12.1.0.1 support 252 with a PDB the CDB, from 12.2 began to support thousands of PDB. How much concrete, official documents did not specify, the default is 4098. Support more PDB, it can reduce the amount of data of the CDB, thus reducing the management complexity.
