A computer science student with visual impairment talks about the impact of ChatGPT on their studies

I am a visually impaired computer science student. Before coming into contact with ChatGPT, my learning progress was very difficult because some of my professors were visual learners and they always emphasized that if we could not see or draw the problem we were working on, we would have difficulty passing their course. This makes me feel very stressed, even though I know there are many excellent visually impaired software developers. This pressure makes me feel so anxious when working on coding projects that I often get stuck in a mental battle and can’t actually write code.

However, with the help of ChatGPT, its powerful capabilities helped me get out of this dilemma. While I still have days where anxiety prevents me from doing the coding work I want to do, for the most part I have grown out of it. ChatGPT also provided me with code samples for my professors' classroom demonstrations, allowing me to better understand their instructions.

Without the help of ChatGPT, I really don’t know what my study would be like today. I am so grateful to have tools like this that make my learning path so much brighter.
