GTA 5 complete source code leaked publicly

During the Christmas holidays abroad, an anonymous user publicly leaked all the source code of Rockstar's well-known game "Grand Theft Auto 5" (GTA 5).

The leaked files are approximately 4GB in size and contain key files related to the game's RAGE engine, concept art, early maps of the game's San Andreas background, and other sensitive information. Additionally, some Python script files from unreleased GTA 6 and a Bully 2 file are included .

As early as September 2022, an anonymous hacker claimed to have obtained the source code of "GTA 5" and "GTA 6" and threatened to disclose the data in an attempt to blackmail Rockstar Games. Since then, Rockstar officially issued a statement confirming that it had suffered a network intrusion, confirming the large-scale "GTA 6" leak.

Today, the full source code for GTA 5 appears to have been leaked again, and has been made public on several file-sharing sites and forums dedicated to GTA modding and hacking. It is not yet clear how the relevant leak occurred. But some speculate that the game's complete source code has been being traded since the leak in 2022.

Rockstar Games and its parent company Take-Two Interactive have yet to make an official statement regarding the latest leak.
