Liu Yongxin is a researcher at the Shenzhen Institute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, executive editor of iMeta journal, and founder of the metagenomic public account. His main research directions are microbiome method development, function mining and scientific communication. He has published more than 50 papers in journals such as Science, iMeta, Nature Biotechnology, Nature Microbiology, etc., with 15,000+ citations, and is selected into the top 2% of highly cited scientists in the world. He is the editor-in-chief of the monograph "Microbiome Experiment Manual", with the participation of more than 300 colleagues, jointly creating a long-term updated Chinese encyclopedia in this field. Founded a metagenomic public account, followed by 160,000+ peers, with a cumulative reading volume of over 40 million, creating the most influential scientific communication platform in this field. He has reviewed more than 160 manuscripts for more than 60 journals such as Nature Communications, Microbiome, ISME, and NAR. The iMeta journal will be launched in 2021 to create a top international journal in the field of microbiome/bioinformatics, solve the publishing bottleneck problem of journals in this field in my country, and establish an international academic voice system.

Journal introduction

"iMeta" is an open access journal co-published by Wiley, the Enterobacteriaceae Branch and hundreds of Chinese scientists in the field. The chief editors are researcher Liu Shuangjiang of the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor Fu Jingyuan of the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. The aim is to publish original research, methods and reviews to advance metagenomics, microbiome and bioinformatics. The goal is to publish the top 10% (IF > 15) of high-impact papers. Features of the journal include video submission, reproducible analysis, image polishing, young editorial board, free publication fees for the first three years, social media promotion with 500,000 users, etc. It will be officially launched in February 2022!
