How to insert national standards into English journals using EndNote, custom document insertion guide

1. Insert the national standard JTG 2034-2020

  • First, find the English journals you want to submit to, then look for articles published by Chinese people, and find the corresponding Chinese specifications and English specification formats. For example, my ASCE Chinese journals are as follows:

Chinese Standard. 2020. Test methods of soils for highway engineering. JTG 3430-2020. Beijing: Ministry of Transport of the Peolple’s Republic of China.

  • Because it is a standard, it cannot be downloaded online. What you can download is how to get Chinese journals. Since we don’t want to use cross-references by typing in Word, we need to customize it if we use Endnote to manage it.

Create a new Standard

Rule Number. Title. |Publisher. Place Published.

  • After you get here, you can compare the information I filled in to see if it corresponds to the format in the Template. If you want to insert the document in doi format, the above picture is also available.

Insert English Journal Specification ASTM

ASTM. 2017. Standard practice for classification of soils for engineering purposes (Unified Soil Classification System). ASTM D2487-17e1. West Conshohocken, PA: ASTM.

  • Because it has been set up in the Template above, we only need to fill in the corresponding information.
    Insert image description here
  • You can find that the places you fill in are actually customizable, that is, you can just fill in what your specifications look like.
