Research on resource allocation of satellite Internet service functions based on SDN/NFV

Abstract:Software-defined networks and network function virtualization can effectively solve the problems of difficult management and control of large networks and difficult resource scheduling. With the widespread application of large-scale satellite networks, the number of users has surged, and the requirements for service performance have gradually increased. This has brought a huge burden to network management and resource scheduling. Technologies such as software-defined network architecture models and network function virtualization have been applied in Large-scale satellite Internet can effectively solve some of the current problems. A new satellite Internet architecture based on SDN/NFV is proposed. Different satellite domains can be responsible for different functions. Inter-satellites and inter-domains can use SDN and NVF to effectively collaborate, efficiently utilize network resources, and at the same time improve their service function resource allocation technology. Research and optimize VNF deployment; propose a resource-aware simulated annealing algorithm. Simulation results show that this algorithm can effectively reduce the end-to-end delay and bandwidth consumption of service function chain (SFC) data flow during transmission, and can provide users with better good service.

0 Preface

The main features of satellite communications include wide coverage, support for broadcast and multicast, high availability, and support for a large number of new satellite deployments. Satellite communication services will become an integral part of the 6G system. With the rapid development of satellites, their number and types are gradually increasing, and satellite services require more flexible, agile and efficient operations. The combination of software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) can well solve the problems of flexible configuration and low cost faced by the current satellite Internet. Software-defined networks can decouple the control plane from the data plane. Based on centralized control and flexible management, the SDN controller can effectively control network forwarding between network functions (NF) based on the obtained network information. Therefore, SDN can effectively solve satellite networks. Flexible configuration issues. Network function virtualization can turn hardware modules into virtual software modules, where the module functions are called virtual network functions (VNF&
