Cinema 4D 2024 update, faster than the old version!

Cinema 4D 2024 for Mac has been updated to version v2024.0.2, in which the Cinema 4D core has been fully optimized, enhanced with adjustable Pyro simulation, enhanced real lens flare and color Correction workflow.

Cinema 4D 2024 is even more powerful, with huge performance improvements in interactive playback, enhancements to rigid body simulation, and a more "art-directed" Pyro workflow. With Trapcode 2024, artists can now create realistic thermodynamic effects using the new Burn feature and create particle trajectories using the Parent Stroke feature.

VFX 2024 breaks new ground in lighting control and features multiple enhancements to the popular Real Lens Flare. Color correction is easier than ever with Magic Bullet 2024. Additionally, a new set of presets gives artists more creative freedom. Universe 2024 also offers many workflow improvements and offers new presets.

Redshift gives users more creative freedom and performance improvements when using MatCap and Distorter shaders on multi-core CPUs. As a special treat for Maxon One subscribers, we're bringing the most comprehensive set of Maxon Capsules to date, including new spline modifiers powered by Rocket Lasso, Redshift metallic and automotive paint materials, and ready-to-use for indoor and outdoor visualization 3D model.

1. Cinema 4D 2024

Cinema 4D 2024 delivers unparalleled speed and performance for the most complex creative scenes. Rigid body simulations can now interact with all existing force, fire, cloth and soft bodies. Pyro shines with a hot new feature that allows fire to be emitted from particles and matrices. The new Vertex Normal tool gives artists unparalleled precision to achieve perfect surfaces.

Cinema 4D 2024 is more than twice as fast as previous versions, optimizing speed and performance through the power of Maxon's new core.

Thanks to the addition of rigid body simulation in Cinema 4D’s unified simulation system, solid objects can now interact with all simulation types in the scene, whether it’s soft bodies, cloth, ropes or Pyros.

Pyro now gives artists more precise control to guide their simulations and ensure it matches their vision. By adding the Pyro tag to the standard particle emitter, taking into account particle geometry and matrix cloners, they can now fire Pyro. This enables artists to create cinematic scenes with flames, smoke trails and explosions, or visualize beautiful fireworks in the night sky.

With the help of UpRes, creatives can use lower-resolution simulations during the art direction and concept stages of a project for faster turnaround, then render the simulation at full quality for final output.

Cinema 4D 2024 introduces new vertex normal controls, giving artists full control over adjusting vertex and polygon normals to eliminate shadow artifacts.

New modeling tools in Cinema 4D 2024 will make tackling complex tasks a breeze. "Select Pattern" allows artists to repeat selections on a grid surface with one click. Projection deformers provide users with quick control and allow them to move points in any direction from one object to another.

The node UI in Cinema 4D 2024 has been revamped. In addition to improving the overall appearance, new annotation capabilities shine through direct annotations in the node editor, which artists can use to document their node networks.

2. Red Giant 2024

Red Giant’s latest update includes updates to the Trapcode, Magic Bullet, VFX and Universe toolsets. Trapcode 2024 allows artists to create realistic thermal dynamics thanks to specific fluid dynamics simulation extensions. VFX 2024 opens up a new dimension in lighting control with multiple enhancements to the popular real-life lens flare. Color correction is easier than ever with Magic Bullet 2024 - plus a host of new presets to give designers even more creative freedom Universe 2024 offers a host of new presets.

Additionally, all tools in Red Giant are now available in Chinese and Japanese, making it easier for artists to get started using the software in their native language.

3. Trapcode 2024

Combustion is a new subset of parameters in a specific fluid dynamics group that adds realistic thermodynamic properties to the simulation. Combustion enables artists to create convincing pyrotechnic effects directly in After Effects, such as igniting an unlit torch in an actor's hand with flames that realistically react to positional data.

Stroke from Parent is a new emitter type option and an alternative to Emit from Parent. Because Stroke from Parent behaves more like a 3D stroke, artists can create seamless trails behind parent particles.

4. VFX 2024

With the 2D+Distance feature, artists can add dimension to their scenes by changing the distance of light sources in Z-space. The Distance Affects Size and Size Affects Brightness parameters can change the appearance of the halo during motion. Great for adding a halo effect to dramatic shots of objects moving towards the camera.

Light control allows artists to precisely position and control blooms in 3D tracking scenes based on AE lights, and the Ring Projection feature brings back the cool bloom styles of the 1970s and 1980s, allowing filmmakers to emulate films like The look of iconic films like Blade Runner.

Artists will experience improved performance when enabling Draft Mode on a layer that has Real Lens Flares applied. Work and animate quickly at lower resolutions while still getting full quality in the final render.

Thanks to the new Schmutz background lighting feature, Schmutz can now be illuminated by the brightness value of the lens or light source, allowing for a smoother and more realistic blend into the footage.

5. Magic Bullet 2024

In Magic Bullet 2024, Maxon offers over 30 new presets covering everything from cinematic looks and music videos to fashion videos and vlogs. This further simplifies the workflow and allows artists to be more creative and inspired by Capsules.

After Effects users can now benefit from synchronized OCIO color management. Setting up color management can be complicated - that's why Looks saves settings after setting them up in After Effects, so users don't have to do color management twice and can fully focus on the creative aspects of their work.

6. Universe 2024

Universe 2024 features all-new Capsules, providing more than 50 new presets to give video editors and compositors an easier workflow and inspire their creativity.

7. Redshift

Redshift 3.5.19 introduces multiple input image adjustments to improve MatCap shaders. The Distorter shader now supports 3D distortions from Maxon Noise and 2D distortions for bump mapping, and Redshift's CPU performance has been improved on systems with more than 12 CPU threads.

Additional tuning parameters have been added to the MatCap shader, allowing users to prepare beautiful illustration renderings from their own digital sketches. Great for quickly creating simple, stylized rendering effects.

The Distorter node now supports 3D distortion using Maxon Noise. This means that Distortion is no longer limited to color texture inputs, it can now apply 3D distortion to the popular Maxon Noise node, and apply distortion to bump maps. These two options can be used independently to distort the surface effect on the mesh without distorting other shader parameters.

On systems running CPUs with 12 or more threads, render buckets will automatically run in parallel. This will improve performance and speed up rendering on multi-core CPUs. Since bucket splitting has no effect on CPUs with fewer than 12 threads, the feature will be automatically turned off on these CPUs.

Redshift adds basic Jitter node support to Blender. Use Jitter nodes to quickly vary shader properties on a large number of assets.

8. Capsules

Maxon’s latest additions to Capsules, a collection of assets tailored specifically to help artists kick-start their projects, include a new spline modifier for simulating wires and ropes, a total of 50 new Redshift materials, and Our next Laubwerk tree and plant pack, along with 16 home decor mockups and tons of updated glassware for Redshift.

The new Catenary Spline Modifier created by Rocket Lasso makes it extremely easy to create hanging wires, ropes and cables. This modifier is available exclusively to Maxon One subscribers and can be used with the Break Spline Modifier to create hanging bundles of wires that come together at random intervals. Putting the result into a Volume Mesher creates nasty dangling tendrils of slime.

The Break Spline Modifier created by Rocket Lasso, which acts as a deformer for splines, now has three new example scenes.
