Comprehensive application of QGIS software to realize shopping mall location analysis

1. Experimental requirements

① Within 50 meters from the city’s main traffic roads, ensuring the convenience of shopping mall transportation.

② Within 100 meters of residential areas, it is convenient for residents to walk to shopping malls.

③Within 100 meters from the parking lot, it is convenient for customers to park.

④Be within 500 meters of other shopping malls to reduce competition pressure.

2. Experimental data

①Main traffic road data in urban areas (mainstreet)

②Main residential area data (residential)

③Parking lot distribution data (stop)

④Other shopping mall distribution data (othermarkets)

3. Experimental steps

(1) Establishment of the influence scope of main transportation lines in urban areas

①Click [Vector]-[Geoprocessing Tools]-[Buffer] to open the buffer dialog box.

② Set [Input Layer] to "mainstreet", [Distance] to 50 meters, check [Output Results], select the output file name as "mainstreet_buffer", and leave other parameters as default.

(2) Establishment of the scope of influence of residents’ residence

①Click [Vector]-[Geoprocessing Tools]-[Buffer] to open the buffer dialog box.

② Set [Input Layer] to "residential", [Distance] to 100 meters, check [Output Results], select the output file name as "residential_buffer", and leave other parameters as default.

(3) Establishment of the scope of influence of the parking lot

①Click [Vector]-[Geoprocessing Tools]-[Buffer] to open the buffer dialog box.

②Set [Input Layer] to "stops", [Distance] to 100 meters, check [Output Results], select the output file name as "stops_buffer", and leave other parameters as default.

(4) Establishment of the scope of influence of existing shopping malls

①Click [Vector]-[Geoprocessing Tools]-[Buffer] to open the buffer dialog box.

② Set [Input Layer] to "othermarkets", [Distance] to 500 meters, check [Output Results], select the output file name as "othermarkets_buffer", and leave other parameters as default.

(5) Perform superposition analysis to find the area that meets the four requirements at the same time

① Find the intersection area of the three layers "stops_buffer", "mainstreet_buffer" and "residential_buffer", open the Intersect dialog box, click [Vector] - [Geoprocessing Tools] - [Intersect] to find the intersection area of the three buffer layers Intersect "mains_res_stops_buffer".

② Find the area that meets the four conditions at the same time, click [Vector] - [Geoprocessing Tools] - [Difference] to open the difference dialog box, set [Input Layer] to "mains_res_stops_buffer", and set [Overlay Layer] to [ othermarkets_buffer], set the output file name to "perfect", and leave other parameters unchanged by default.

(6) Evaluate the location conditions of shopping malls in the entire city

In order to understand the location conditions of shopping malls in other areas of the city, the above data can be used to evaluate and grade the location of shopping malls in the entire city.

The grading standards are: those that meet all four conditions are classified as the first level, those that meet three conditions are classified as the second level, those that meet two conditions are classified as the third grade, those that meet one condition are classified as the fourth grade, and those that do not meet the conditions at all are classified as Level 5.

①Attribute assignment

Open the attribute lists of the "stops" buffer, the "mianstreet" buffer and the "residential" buffer respectively, and add the "stops, mainstreet, resident" fields respectively, and assign all values to 1; open the existing mall buffer attribute list, and add the "markets" field, assigning a value of -1, because the area outside the mall buffer zone already exists to meet the requirements.

②Regional overlay

Find the overlay area of the four layers "stops_buffer", "mainstreet_buffer", "residential_buffer" and "othermarkets_buffer". Click [Vector] - [Geoprocessing Tools] - [Joint] to open the joint dialog box and find the four graphs. Overlay region of layer "mians_res_stops_other_union".

③Grading

Open the attribute table of the "mians_res_stops_other_union" layer, click Edit, and fill in the empty value positions in "mainstreets", "residential", "stops" and "markets" with 0. Add the field "class" to the attribute table, open the field calculator, check [Update existing fields], select [class], enter "mainstreet" + "residentia" + "stops" + "markets" in the representation, click OK.

④Use the "class" field for hierarchical display.

First level: class value is 3;

Second level: class value is 2;

Third level: class value is 1;

Fourth level: class value is 0;

Fifth level: class value is -1.

Finally, a hierarchical map of shopping mall locations in urban areas is obtained. The darker the color, the more suitable the area is for building shopping malls. On the contrary, the area is unsuitable for building shopping malls.
