I'm a rookie
This article is just to share a very simple problem I encountered but have been troubleshooting for a long time.
My network environment is within the campus network.
My own office computer has a fixed IP: 10.11.128.236, and my colleague’s computer IP is: 10.11.128.255
I need to access files shared by colleagues within the local area network.
But when I accessed it, I encountered an error: 0x80070043, the network name cannot be found.
I found a lot of posts on the Internet, set up group policy, registry, firewall, and set many options, but none of them solved the problem.
In the end, we found out that the problem lies in the fixed IP configuration of the machine and the subnet mask was filled in incorrectly.
The correct subnet mask of my computer's IP should be 255.255.248.0, but when I manually configured it, it was filled in as 255.255.255.0
It was configured a long time ago. After configuring the IP, I have used it for a long time without encountering any problems. Internet functions and other functions can be used normally.
So this time when accessing shared files, the above error message appeared: 0x80070043, the network name cannot be found.
I didn't think about the IP settings when I started. I found a lot of posts on the Internet and tried a lot of settings, but I still couldn't solve the problem.
Finally, I discovered the problem after being reminded by my colleagues.
After modifying the correct subnet mask, you can access the shared files normally.
