Mouse Knowledge Series Star Flash Mouse

As the 2023.8.4 Huawei HDC Conference comes to an end, a new term begins to enter people’s attention: StarLight NaerLink. With the introduction of StarLight technology into the keyboard and mouse circle, there is another term: StarLight Mouse.

As mentioned in our previous mouse knowledge sharing series, there are currently two types of mice on the market: wired mice and wireless mice. One of the important parameters of wireless mice is the rate of return, and VGN uses Nordic MCU solutions to achieve close to 4K Rate of return, currently the wireless 4K family has added a new member, the 4K wireless mouse realized by StarLight technology. However, I still have a question. The information I have seen so far shows that why did Huawei choose a 2.4G 1K return rate mouse as the benchmark at the HDC site? Is it more targeted to benchmark 4K wireless mice? Of course, this does not affect the favorable impression of many personal participants. In the field of mice, this technology is also a technological innovation.

StarLight Mouse was born in the StarLight Alliance. Speaking of StarLight Alliance, it was established on September 20, 2020, led by Huawei, and currently has 350+ members. The establishment of the Star Flash Alliance originated from the fact that Huawei was forced to withdraw from the Bluetooth Technology Alliance due to US sanctions in 2019. This is also an important change in the development of domestic wireless technology. It is obvious from the video released by HDC that the Star Flash Logo is the fusion of Bluetooth and WI-FI icons.

StarLight technology is indeed architecturally compatible with both Bluetooth and WI-FI protocols, breaking the barriers that have existed between the two for many years.

According to current data, StarLight technology does have lower power consumption (only 60% of Bluetooth), faster speed (more than 6 times), lower latency (only 1/30 of Bluetooth), and more stable connection ( Anti-interference sensitivity is 7dB higher than Bluetooth), wider coverage (more than 2 times higher than Bluetooth), and a larger number of terminal networks (more than 10 times higher than Bluetooth). In the field of gaming, it may be possible to invite more people to use game controllers and other gaming devices to play somatosensory games in the future.

According to incomplete statistics, the market for wireless short-range communication chips will exceed $25 billion (approximately ¥180 billion) in 2026. The huge market space gives new technologies like Star Flash the opportunity to grow rapidly, and it also gives us the opportunity to grow. The following is a wireless mouse solution based on UWB technology, which supports the mouse to achieve wired & wireless dual 8K rate of return.
