An antique in the Linux world

Slackware is a Linux  distribution produced by Patrick Volkerding  . It has been maintained under Patrick's leadership since its release in 1993. On July 17, Slackware just celebrated its 24th birthday. Although it seems young, it is already the oldest distribution of Linux.

An old thing in the Linux world An old thing in the Linux world

Slackware's release frequency is not high. The most recent version was 14.2 released last year, and the previous version 14.1 dates back to 2013. Now, Slackware continues to move forward, and its rolling version code is used in the Linux 4.9 LTS kernel, and many new software packages have been added compared to version 14.2. I hope that Slackware will develop better and better in the future.
