Recently, during the installation and use of mysql8.0, I encountered this error: An error was encountered loading product catalog. Then I searched online and found an effective solution, which I would like to share with you.
Complete uninstall
The first thing to note is that before installing a newer version of mysql, you need to completely uninstall the previous version (I have installed mysql5.7 here). For details, please refer to: Completely uninstall mysql .
Solve the error
In fact, the solution is very simple: first go to the C drive and display all hidden folders. Then go to Program Files, Program Data and Program File(x86) to delete the MySQL folder. Finally, try installing MySQL again.
