Opening files with EditPlus is extremely slow, one-click solution, and solutions to common problems with EditPlus

I recently encountered a problem when using EditPlus Little Red Book. Double-clicking to open a file was extremely slow, but right-clicking and selecting EditPlus opened it in seconds. After some searching, I finally found a solution. I will record it here for the convenience of everyone in use. Less mining pits:
