Pattern Recognition LettersPost

1. PRL paper submission documents

Paper template download URL: https://www.elsevier.com/authors/policies-and-guidelines/latex-instructions
Paper submission URL: https://www.editorialmanager.com/prletters/default2.aspx

Elsevier needs to upload a tex file when submitting, and different options need to be selected for different files.
like:

  • Source file (*.tex), select type Manuscript.
  • Reference (*.bib), select type Manuscript.
  • Styles (prletters.sty and elsarticle.cls) must be uploaded, select the type Manuscript.
  • Picture (don’t repeat the name, PDF or .eps is acceptable), select the type Figure.

2. Problems encountered

2.1 Generate elsarticle.cls

There are two ways to download, as follows:
First, download it from the PRL official website. The URL is the same as the URL for downloading the paper template. Just click to download. Second, download the elsarticle compressed package

at https://ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/elsarticle
, and then find the elsarticle.dtx file. In this directory (enter "cmd"), enter the command latex elsarticle.ins generates elsarticle.cls

2.2 Question 1: When uploading a .tex file to EES, the generated PDF is not the text, but a bunch of garbled characters.

After research, I found that those are not garbled characters, but caused by the problem of uploading files myself. Select the correct file and the options for the file when uploading ! ! ! (The order of uploading does not matter, you can click the button "Update File Order" to automatically adjust the order)
