European cloud giant OVHcloud acquires edge computing specialist gridscale

The edge computing community has recently learned that European cloud giant OVHcloud has entered negotiations to fully acquire German company gridscale, a software provider specializing in hyper-converged infrastructure.

This strategic acquisition will mark another important milestone for OVHcloud, allowing the group to significantly accelerate its geographical deployment and enter the emerging, fast-growing edge computing market.

gridscale offers a range of innovative multi-tenant IaaS and PaaS products and services. The company's main operations are located in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands, where it enjoys a good reputation. The transaction is expected to close in early fiscal 2024 and has no impact on fiscal 2023.
