In the Task Manager window, find and select [Windows Explorer] , then click [right-click] , and in the menu item that opens, select [Restart]

3. Check the clipboard history setting: Make sure the clipboard history function is enabled. Open the Settings app, select System, then tap the Clipboard option and make sure the Clipboard History switch is on.

4. Disable third-party software conflicts : Some third-party software may interfere with the file copy and paste function. Try starting your computer in safe mode and see if you can copy and paste files normally. If it does, then an installed program may be causing the problem.

Press the [Win] key, or click [Start Menu] in the lower left corner, find [Power] in the menu item that opens , but don’t rush to restart, hold down the [Shift] key on the keyboard, and then click [Restart]

Select an option window, click [Troubleshoot (reset your computer or view advanced options)]

Under Troubleshooting, click [Advanced Options]

Under Advanced Options, click [Startup Settings (Change Windows Startup Behavior)]

Start the settings, click the [Restart] button directly

Then enter the startup setting interface, just press the number key [4] to enter the safe mode

5. Run the System File Checker (SFC): System file corruption may cause file copy-paste issues.

In the command prompt, enter and press Enter to execute the [sfc /scannow] command. This command is mainly used to repair system files. Whether the system files are missing or damaged, they can be repaired.

sfc includes the following commands:

  • sfc /scannow: scans the integrity of all protected system files and repairs problematic files where possible
  • sfc /verifyonly: scans the integrity of all protected system files and does not perform repair operations
  • sfc /scanfile: Scan the integrity of the referenced file, and repair the file if a problem is found (the full path needs to be specified)
  • sfc /verifyfile: verify the integrity of the file with the full path, but will not perform repair operations
  • sfc /offbootdir: For offline repair, specifies the location of the offline boot directory
  • sfc /offwindir: For offline repair, specifies the location of the offline Windows directory
  • sfc /logfile: For offline repairs, optionally enable logging by specifying the log file path

6. Rebuild system icon cache: Sometimes, system icon cache file corruption may cause file copy-paste problems. Open a command prompt (run as administrator), enter the following command and press enter to run:

taskkill /IM explorer.exe /F
CD /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local
DEL IconCache.db /a
exit

7. Update system and drivers: Make sure your Windows system and related drivers are the latest versions. Open the Settings app, select Update & Security , and tap the Windows Update and Check for Updates buttons.
