1. Add more pictures
- Take more pictures of the calibration board, but generally the effect is more obvious when the pictures taken are less than 10. If there are already more than 10 pictures, increasing the number may not improve the effect much
- Calibration needs to cover the entire frame as much as possible. The closer to the outer field of view, the greater the distortion. Therefore, it is necessary to have corner points that can cover the periphery of the camera to better solve the distortion.
- The calibration board needs to contain different positions and different angles.
2. Remove images with large errors
- Remove images with large reprojection errors
- Remove the blurred picture to ensure the clarity of the picture, so that the corner detection is accurate
- The angle between the calibration plate and the optical axis of the camera should not be too large, generally less than 45°, if the angle is too large, the accuracy of corner point detection will be insufficient
- Remove the wrongly identified corners. For example, when identifying corners, if the number of corners does not meet the requirements, the picture should be removed.
