Tesla: Has established a data center in China

Tesla responded to netizens' doubts about the "sentinel mode" via Weibo yesterday .

Recently, Tesla was banned from entering the parking lot of Sanhe Airport in Yueyang, Hunan Province, which caused concern. The airport staff said that because Tesla has a sentry mode, "there is a risk of leakage"

Tesla said that unlike some brands that can remotely view the surrounding environment of the vehicle through the sentinel mode, the data of Tesla vehicles is currently only stored offline in the USB device in the car, and neither the owner nor Tesla can remotely view it online.

In addition, Tesla has established a data center in China to achieve localization of data storage. All data generated by vehicles sold in the Chinese mainland market will be stored in China.

In October 2021, after the competent government departments jointly issued the "Several Regulations on Automobile Data Security Management (Trial)", Tesla, as the first batch of pilot companies, actively participated in the compliance pilot work organized by the competent departments.
