This article describes how to enable the telnet command in the Windows system .

Tip : This article takes the Windows 10 system version as an example.

Detailed description

The Windows system does not enable the telnet command by default. You can enable it manually. The steps are as follows.

1. Log in to the Windows instance
2. Click  Start , type  Control Panel  Click the button  Enter to open  the Control Panel  page

3. Click  Programs  >  Programs and Features . 

4. Click  Enable or Disable Windows Features , check  Telnet Client , and click  OK . 

5. After the installation is complete, click  Start and enter  cmd to open the command line.

6. Execute the following command to test that the telnet command can be used normally

 

telnet -help
