Huawei launches the 2023 University Challenge (Tech Arena) in Europe

On Friday, Huawei announced the launch of the Huawei Tech Arena at Viva Technology 2023, one of Europe's largest tech summits.

Tech Arena is jointly sponsored and planned by Huawei's global laboratories and top universities, providing opportunities for students around the world to experience and learn to solve industry problems.

Liu Shaowei, president of Huawei European Research Institute, said that Huawei plans to hold 10 Tech Arenas in the 2023-2024 school year, which are expected to attract more than 1,000 students. Tech Arena will be held in different countries including France, UK, Ireland, Sweden, Germany, Finland, Belgium, Poland, Switzerland and Israel.

Liu Shaowei also emphasized that the past results of the Tech Arena Challenge show that Huawei is committed to investing in the cultivation of young talents. By the end of 2022, more than 5,400 students from 52 universities have participated in Tech Arena. In addition, Huawei has invested more than 3 million US dollars in the construction of the Tech Arena competition platform for students around the world.

Liu Shaowei said: "Judging from the results, more and more young people can achieve self-improvement through Tech Arena. Huawei has always been committed to cultivating an excellent talent resource pool for the local area, and this result is in line with our original intention."

Liu Shaowei also released the themes for several Tech Arena challenges, and the themes for several other challenges are expected to be announced later this year.

Tech Arena mainly tests the ability of the contestants to use coding, algorithm, mathematics, and engineering skills to solve practical problems in the industry, and awards awards to the winners.
