How to completely uninstall ArcGIS detailed tutorial

01 express version

1. Start > Control Panel > Add and Remove Programs, uninstall all ArcGIS software and help documents, and all ArcGIS patches.
2. Remove all Python-related applications from the Add and Remove Programs panel.
3. Enter the following directory: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming, delete the ESRI folder. (Use the search tool to delete all the ESRI folders.)
4. Start > Run, enter regedit and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
a. Delete the ESRI folder under HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software.
b. Delete the ESRI folder under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software.
(This step can use ctrl+F in the registry editor to find all ESRI or arcgis registration information and delete them all.)
5. Delete the ESRI folder under the C:\Program Files\Common Files directory. (Use the search tool to delete all ESRI folders.)
6. Check the ArcGIS and Python installation directories, and delete all relevant files/folders if there are any. (Use the search tool to delete all the ESRI folders. 3, 5, and 6 can be combined into one step.)
After the above steps, if the ArcGIS program still exists in the list of adding and removing programs, please use Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to clean it up.
(Remember that the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility is a very useful tool. I can’t clean up a lot of software, but I use it to clean it up. It’s very small and very effective. After all, it’s a Windows tool!)

Open the control panel and find "Uninstall a program"

Select Uninstall a program to find programs related to ArcGIS in the new interface.

Right-click on what you want to uninstall and select Uninstall/Change. According to this method, uninstall the software to be uninstalled one by one.

Through the above steps, we have uninstalled the ArcGIS software from the computer, but sometimes the uninstallation is not complete, and there will be some leftovers such as the registry. Next, we will delete other remaining files.
Find the installation path of ArcGIS. Here, the editor installed it in the Program Files (x86) folder of the D drive. Find files/folders related to ArcGIS or ESRI in the Program Files (x86) folder and delete them.

Find the files/folders related to ArcGIS or ESRI in the Program Files, Program Files (x86) of the C drive (64-bit systems will have this folder, but 32-bit systems will not) and ProgramData folders, and delete them.

Enter "regedit" in the command line to open the system registry.

Select the "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT" directory, look for the registry related to ArcGIS or ESRI under this directory, and delete it.

Select the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software" directory, find the registry related to ArcGIS or ESRI in this directory, and delete it.

Select the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE" directory, find the registry related to ArcGIS or ESRI in this directory, and delete it.

After all the above operations are completed, restart the computer, so that ArcGIS will be completely uninstalled.

03 Uninstall the software housekeeper
First open the software housekeeper (as long as it is a software housekeeper, the general steps are the same, there is no need to specify what software housekeeper it is), as shown in the figure, click [Software Uninstall]

First, uninstall the license, find the ArcGIS License, and uninstall the license

Click to uninstall the license, the uninstallation steps are as shown in the figure:

After the uninstallation is complete, clear the residual directory, as shown in the figure

Secondly, uninstall the ArcGIS Chinese localization package (if not installed, skip this step)

Finally, uninstall the ArcGIS Desktop software, this uninstallation time may be very long! Select [Remove], as shown in the figure

After deleting the registry, delete the file to complete the uninstallation! (Of course this is a long process! Just wait patiently! It does not affect the Internet, watch the video!)

After completion, click Finish, and finally clear the residual files!
