Good news: Apache Flink won the 2023 SIGMOD System Award!!!

At the ACM SIGMOD 2023 summit held on June 18-23, Apache Flink won this year's Systems Award.

The SIGMOD conference was initiated by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Data Management Professional Committee (SIGMOD). It is one of the most influential international academic conferences in the fields of data management, data processing and data storage. The academic achievements included represent the highest level in the industry . The SIGMOD System Award is awarded to developers of software and hardware systems in recognition of their technical contributions that have had a significant impact on the theory and practice of large-scale data management systems worldwide. Since its inception in 2015, the award has been awarded to an individual or team of developers of only one system each year. This award for Apache Flink reflects the academic community's high recognition of Flink's technological advancement and industry influence, and once again confirms that Flink is the de facto standard in the field of real-time stream processing.

As an open source project, the success of Apache Flink is inseparable from the support of all developers and users in the entire open source community, especially those from China who have made outstanding contributions. Under the active efforts of the Apache Flink Project Management Committee (PMC), SIGMOD included all PMC members and Committers (101 people in total) of the award-winning project on the award list for the first time. Contributors on the website show respect and thanks.

Honor is an affirmation of the past, but also an expectation for the future. Currently, the Apache Flink community is actively preparing for version 2.0, which is expected to be released next year, which will also mark a new chapter for Flink. In the future, Apache Flink will continue to join hands with the community, continue to innovate and forge ahead.
