1. Open the layer view (Layout View)

Layout View is the second option or View—Layout View in the lower left corner

2. Set landscape view

After clicking Layout View, the default is generally vertical.

Right-click on a blank space outside the map and data frame or File in the upper left corner , select Page and Print Setup (page and print setup)

Click Landscape to turn the page horizontally

Select the data frame, adjust the appropriate size, right click in the data frame—Align—Align to Margins—right click—Align Center—right click—Align Vertical Center , the data frame is displayed in the center of the map

 

3. Add grid

Right click in the data frame —properties—Grid—New Grid

Choose grid type

Modify Grid Style

Set axes and labels

 

 Grid Basic Settings

After the creation is complete, you can set the grid style in Style or Properties

 

 Example: Here the left and right labels are set to be vertical

4. Add legend, compass, scale bar

Modify the legend and scale bar, right click—Convert To Graphics (convert to graphics)—Ungroup (ungroup)

Each part can be modified and moved independently. After the modification is complete, select all - right click - Group (regroup)

 

5. Add a new data frame mosaic small map (for example, draw a small map of the South China Sea area in the lower right corner of the map of China)

 You can set the background of the small picture to white, so that the grid in the main picture cannot be seen in the small picture
