1. What is the hospital PACS system?

The full name of the PACS system is the medical image archiving and communication system. PACS includes RIS. It is necessary to realize the process from patient registration to filming and examination, as well as the process of doctors viewing images, writing reports, reviewing reports, and printing reports.

1.【Patient consultation】


The first is the patient. The patient registers in the hospital, and after the registration is completed, he or she goes to the corresponding department for medical treatment. Generally, the hospital has specialized nurses for triage. The patient will see the doctor according to the triage results. The doctor may ask the patient to take CT, B-ultrasound, endoscopy and other examinations according to the patient's condition description. At this time, the doctor will issue an examination application form to the patient through a system called HIS, and the patient can go to the corresponding department for examination after the payment is completed (we use the radiology department as an example in this article).

 

2. 【Registration and inspection】


患者携带纸质申请单,来到检查科室的登记窗口;
登记员会根据患者的检查类型进行登记分诊,登记分诊的目的有两个,第一个是对检查诊室进行分流,第二个是将患者的检查信息通过worklist协议信息发送到仪器上;
患者进入检查室,检查医生通过申请单从仪器上找到该患者,给患者做检查,检查完成后,将患者的影像数据发送到PACS服务器,这样登记的患者就能和影像进行关联上;
患者存在影像数据后,报告医生就可以在【报告工作站】一边浏览影像,一边书写报告,一般的系统都提供了丰富的报告模板,极大提升了医生的工作效率,医生一旦遇到影像数据不清晰的情况,有可能就是检查医生漏拍或者影像质量不过关,这个时候就可以选择重新拍片;
报告医生写完报告后,需要提交审核,审核医生审核报告,审核医大多数情况下不会驳回报告,医院要保证出报告的效率,所以笔者接触过的医院都是审核医生会进行修改报告,而不是将报告驳回;
审核完成的报告,患者通过自助打印机可以打印报告和影像,没有条件的医院一般是医生打印出报告交给患者。

 

3. Interaction between PASC and HIS system

 


PACS system and HIS system can be said to be a pair of brothers and depend on each other. HIS system is a hospital information management system, and it is the most basic and core system to support all businesses of a hospital.

 

The HIS system transmits the patient examination application form to PACS, and PACS can only register after receiving it; the reports and images of PACS patients will also be returned to the HIS system for clinical or inpatient doctors to read and share data.
