The system firewall is not closed, so printing cannot be performed. There are two ways to close the firewall, including closing the graphics software and closing the command line. The specific description is as follows.

Method 1 : Graphic software closes the firewall.

1. Open the Start Menu-Settings-Security and Updates-Security Center-Network Protection- Firewall, as shown in the figure below .

In the switch in the red box on the right in the image below, drag to the right to turn off the firewall.

Method 2 : Use the command to turn off the firewall .

1. Open a terminal and use the command systemctl status ufw to view the firewall status ( the active status is active as shown in the figure below).

 2. Enter in the terminal: systemctl stop ufw to turn off the firewall

3. Enter in the terminal: systemctl status ufw , check the status of the firewall, and confirm that it is closed ( inactive (dead) is already inactive in the figure below).

【Applicable version】

Galaxy Kirin desktop operating system V10sp1

After setting up the shared printer in Windows , you need to use the shared printer from Windows in the Galaxy Kylin OS .

【solution】

1. Windows side configuration steps ( Windows 10 as an example) :

1.1 Open: Settings— > Network and Internet—> Ethernet; click on the connected network, and modify the network configuration file to a private network (as shown in the figure below).

1.2 Open: Control Panel— > Network and Internet—> View Network Status and Tasks— > Change Advanced Sharing Settings, modify the configuration as shown in the figure below:

 2. Printer side configuration steps:

2.1 Open: Settings— > Devices— > Printers and Scanners; select the printer to be shared, click: Manage— > Printer Properties; click "Sharing" to modify the configuration; click "Security" to modify the configuration.

 3. Galaxy Kirin side configuration steps :

3.1 Open: Start Menu— > Settings— > Devices— > Printers— > Add Printers and Scanners; Click Add— > Find Network Devices, and enter the IP address of the Windows computer to search.

3.2 Fill in the user name and password of the Windows computer in the pop-up identity authentication pop-up box , keep the default domain, and click " OK " .

3.3 Jump to the next page and modify the configuration:

Note: The user name and password are in the opposite order here, so do not fill in the wrong ones.

3.4 After the configuration is complete, click " Forward " to start selecting the printer driver and subsequent content, the method is the same as adding.

3.3 System Shared Print Authentication Issues

【Applicable version】

Galaxy Kirin desktop operating system V10sp1

【Problem phenomenon】

When other computers connect to the printer shared by the Galaxy Kylin desktop operating system to print, it keeps prompting that printing documents requires authentication. When the prompt box " Printing documents requires authentication " pops up, after entering the correct user name and password, the prompt box will still pop up. As shown below:

 【solution】

1. Execute the sudo pdbedit -L command to check whether a user has been configured in the samba service of the print server, and find that no samba user has been configured. As shown :

 2. Use the command to add a samba user, using the current user name and password of the print server: sudo smbpasswd -a gxxc .

3. After adding, query the user again, if it exists, it means the addition is successful.

 4. Re-add the printer. You need to enter the password before continuing to add.

After adding, it can be printed normally.

3.4 The system cannot refresh the shared printer normally

【Applicable version】

Galaxy Kirin desktop operating system V10sp1

【Problem phenomenon】

In Windows , the printer shared by the Galaxy Kylin desktop operating system cannot be refreshed normally. The specific performance is that the IP address cannot be pinged ( ping 172.17.31.59 as shown in the figure below ) , or the file cannot be sent.

【solution】

1. After clicking " The printer I need is not in the list " , click " Select a shared printer by name " , click Browse, and enter "\\ Galaxy Kylin Computer IP Address " in the address bar , as shown in the figure below.

 2. Click the printer to be shared, click Select, and click Next, as shown in the figure below.

 3. After the driver is installed successfully, the printer is added successfully, as shown in the figure below.
