It is a very good choice to learn and start using Arduino UNO and this 2.4-inch TFT LCD display (17 yuan on Taobao) at a low price.

TFT LCD is a variation of liquid crystal display (LCD) that uses thin film transistor (TFT) technology. This improves image quality, better contrast and addressability. The LCD driver chip is ILI9341, and the touch screen driver chip is XPT2046.

In Arduino based projects, the processor frequency is low. Therefore, complex high-definition images and high-speed motion cannot be displayed. Arduino UNO expansion board full-color TFT LCD is suitable for displaying simple data and commands. The TFT controller used can't switch the internal display RAM, so can't use double buffering for animations, but still only redraws a small part of the screen.

Given the limitations of the Arduino UNO, the bigger the display, the worse the performance. The size of the 2.4-inch screen is enough to meet the compromise between the number of pixels, display area and functions of Arduino UNO.

This module consumes most of the resources available in the Arduino UNO. This is not a limitation of the module itself. In return, images can be updated quickly using the parallel interface. Only pins 0 and 1 (RX and TX respectively) and pin 19 (A5) are left unused if one wants to utilize all its features (LCD + touch screen + SD card). If an SD card is not used, pins 10, 11, 12 and 13 are additionally provided. With proper layout, it is possible to connect some SPI devices even with an SD card.
