My thoughts on volunteering for the college entrance examination

I. Introduction

The annual college entrance examination is over, and the results of the college entrance examination were released a few days ago. Regarding whether to choose a major or a college when filling out the application, what major to recommend or what major to avoid lightning, what strategies should be followed when filling out the application, and factors that affect the choice of major What is there, I am only representing my personal point of view here, hoping to give some help to students who are confused.

Second, choose a major or choose a school:

Regarding the choice of a major or a college, the answers generally given on the Internet are basically as follows:

Choosing a major or a college for the college entrance examination is an important decision that requires comprehensive consideration of multiple factors. Here are some suggestions for your consideration:

        1. Interests and passions: First consider your interests and passions in your major. Choosing a major that interests you will make you more motivated and persistent in learning, and more likely to succeed in your future career.

        2. Career prospects: You may consider choosing a major with good career prospects. Research current and future job market needs, and learn about job opportunities and salaries offered by the major you're considering.

        3. Personal abilities and strengths: Consider your own personal abilities and strengths, and choose a major that matches your skills and talents. This way you are more likely to stand out in the professional field and be successful.

        4. Training methods and teaching quality: understand the training methods and teaching quality of different institutions. Some institutions have a reputation for professional excellence in specific areas, while some specializations may be more highly regarded at certain institutions.

        5. Academic atmosphere and resources : Consider choosing an institution with a good academic atmosphere and abundant resources. This will help you to be better supported and developed academically.

Most importantly, you should have full communication and consultation with your family, teachers and relevant professionals. They can give you more specific advice and help you make more informed decisions. Whether you choose a major or a college, the ultimate goal is to find the most suitable learning and growth environment for you. Good luck!

As far as I am concerned, my priority is major > institution. I remember that when I volunteered for the college entrance examination, due to the reform of the college entrance examination in Shandong Province, there was no transfer option. Each major + institution is a volunteer. There are 96 voluntary options available, and although my options are not filled, all of my majors are in computer science.

In my opinion, first of all, I have a certain interest in computers and computers have certain employment prospects. I remember that my score could reach a remote 211 major in literature, but I was really not interested, so I applied to many schools. Naturally, I have been admitted to the current school's network engineering major.

3. The major you want to recommend/lightning protection (introduction to network engineering major):

In this part, I will only briefly introduce my major. Since I don’t know about other majors, I will not recommend other majors or introduce lightning protection. Later, I will publish a detailed introduction about network engineering. , the link will be attached later.

Note: All the following remarks only represent my own understanding of network engineering in my school

Network engineering is a promising subject in the field of modern information technology. It takes computer network as the core and covers network principles, network security and programming. This article will introduce the structure of the network engineering major and the main contents of the three directions in detail.

(1) Professional direction

As far as our majors in our college are concerned, three main directions are set: network, network security and programming. These directions constitute the core course system of the network engineering major, providing comprehensive and systematic training for students.

        (1) Network direction : This direction mainly focuses on the design, construction and management of computer networks. Students will learn network architecture, network protocols, configuration and management of LAN and WAN, network performance optimization, etc., and cultivate students' ability to build and maintain computer networks in enterprises and organizations.

        (2) The direction of network security : the direction of network security emphasizes the security of computer networks and information systems. Students will learn about network attack and prevention, network security technology, intrusion detection and defense, etc., to cultivate their professional ability in the field of network security, and be able to effectively prevent and respond to network security threats.

        (3) Programming direction : Programming is an integral part of network engineering. Students will learn programming language, data structure and algorithm, database technology and other knowledge, cultivate students' programming ability in software development, network application and system management, and lay a solid foundation for students' future career development.

(2) Main content

First of all, after the curriculum reform in 2020, the network engineering major in our school will no longer be divided. The school provides compulsory courses and elective courses. Students can choose the corresponding elective courses according to their own development direction and goals.

        (1) Network direction : the main content of network direction includes network architecture, network protocol, network management and optimization, etc. Students will learn the TCP/IP protocol family, configuration and management of network hardware devices, network performance optimization technology, etc., and master the skills of enterprise-level network construction and operation and maintenance.

        (2) Network security direction: the main content of the network security direction covers network attack and prevention, security technology and strategy, intrusion detection and defense, etc. Students will learn the analysis and prevention of network threats, security authentication and encryption algorithms, formulation and implementation of security policies, etc., to cultivate students' professional ability in the field of network security.

        (3) Programming direction: The main content of programming direction includes programming language, data structure and algorithm, database technology, etc. Students will learn the application of mainstream programming languages such as Java and Python, master the design and implementation of data structures and algorithms, understand the basic principles and management techniques of databases, and cultivate students' programming ability in software development and system management.

The three directions of the network engineering major are connected with each other, forming a complete training system. Students can choose a direction that suits them according to their interests and career plans, and fully develop their comprehensive abilities during the learning process.

All in all, the network engineering major is based on computer networks, and cultivates students' professional abilities in network construction, network security and software development through learning in three directions: network, network security and programming. With the rapid development of the Internet, the prospect of network engineering is broad, providing students with abundant employment opportunities and career development space.

4. Strategies for filling out volunteers:

Volunteering for the college entrance examination is an important decision in every candidate's life, and it is directly related to future study and career development. To help you develop a sound volunteering strategy, here are some suggestions:

        1. Fully understand majors: It is very important to understand the basic situation of each major before filling out the application form. You can learn about the professional curriculum, employment prospects, salary and other information by consulting the school's enrollment brochure, participating in professional introduction meetings, and conducting online research.

        2. Determine personal interests and strengths: Candidates should carefully analyze their interests and strengths, consider which subject areas they like, which skills they are good at, and what kind of career they want to pursue in the future. When filling out the application form, give priority to the majors that match your interests and strengths, which will help improve your learning enthusiasm and professional development potential.

        3. Comprehensive evaluation of school strength: When choosing a school, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the comprehensive strength of the school in terms of school-running strength, faculty strength, discipline construction, and scientific research level. It can be evaluated by the ranking of the school, the publication of research papers, and the employment of alumni.

        4. Leave blank to reserve room: Candidates should reasonably allocate the number of volunteers above and below the score line when filling in their volunteers. You can reserve the previous volunteers for your favorite high-scoring majors and high-scoring schools. At the same time, under the condition of ensuring that you meet the conditions, you can properly reserve a few relatively low volunteers for subsequent adjustments.

        5. Multi-angle consultation and advice: Communicate and consult with parents, teachers, seniors, career guidance teachers, etc. from multiple angles, and listen to their suggestions and opinions. But the final decision must be made by the candidates themselves, considering their own situation, interests and development prospects.

        6. Consider employment prospects: When filling out the application form, you may wish to consider the professional employment prospects and market demand. Choosing a major with better employment prospects will help improve employment competitiveness.

        7. Multiple backup alternatives: When filling out the volunteer, you can set up alternatives. That is, in addition to filling in the major that you are most interested in and suitable for, you can also have several alternative majors as choices. In this way, even if the first choice cannot be realized, there are alternative plans to avoid completely missing the opportunity.

The most important thing is that candidates should think carefully when choosing a major, stick to their own ideals and interests, and make comprehensive considerations in combination with employment prospects to formulate the most suitable volunteering strategy for them. I wish you to make wise decisions and realize your ideals in the college entrance examination volunteer application!

5. Factors affecting the choice of major:

        1. Interest and enthusiasm : Interest and enthusiasm for a certain field is one of the most important factors in choosing a major. If you are interested in a certain field and love the knowledge and work content in it, then it is likely that you will be more motivated and patient to learn and develop.

        2. Abilities and talents : Your own abilities and talents will also have an impact on your choice of major. If you are gifted in a certain field or have related skills and abilities, it may be easier and better for you to choose a related major.

        3. Employment prospects and market demand: choosing a major with good employment prospects and market demand is also an important consideration. Understanding current and future employment trends in a field and whether there is steady demand in that field can help you make more informed major choices.

        4. Salary and benefits: Salary and benefits are also an important consideration in influencing major choice. Some majors may be more advantageous in terms of salary and benefits, while others may be relatively lower. Understanding the salary levels and benefits packages of different majors can help you weigh your options.

        5. Academic orientation and research opportunities: If you have a strong interest in academic research, then choosing a major that is closely related to research may be more suitable for you. Some majors may offer additional research opportunities and academic development paths, which can satisfy your pursuit of intellectual exploration and academic achievement.

        6. Personality and Personal Traits: Your personality and personal traits can also affect your suitability and preference for a field. For example, if you enjoy working with people and are a good communicator, a major with more crowd interaction might be a better fit for you.

        7. Financial and family factors: Financial and family factors may also have an impact on the choice of major. Some majors may require higher financial investment or longer study time. You need to consider your financial situation and family support.

These factors may influence each other, and considerations may be different for each individual. The most important thing is to carefully consider and weigh your own interests, abilities, goals, and external factors to make a professional choice that suits you.
