Getting started with Alfred
- Start Alfred
By default, when Alfred is installed on Mac, Alfred will automatically start with the system startup, and then wait quietly in the background of the system, waiting for your call. You can click the little hat button on the right side of the desktop MenuBar to open Alfred.
But usually you will choose the hotkey to start Alfred. Alfred's default startup hotkey is Alt + Space, which can directly call up the magical Alfred interface after pressing it.
- Change Alfred's startup hotkey
Click the small hat in the upper right corner of the desktop, click Preferences, open the Alfred settings panel, click General at the top, and open the general settings panel.
Click the Alfred hotkey and enter the corresponding key combination to set the startup key. After clicking here, press Alt and Space at the same time, you can set Alt+Space as the startup hotkey. Now try to press these two keys at the same time, isn't it convenient to start Alfred~?
- Start App
To start an App, you don’t need to open the “Launch Pad” and use the mouse to find it and click it, just press the hotkey you just set to start Alfred, enter some letters of the App, and press Enter to open the App directly.
If multiple matching Apps appear after inputting letters, you can use the Up/Down key to select.
- find files
Using Alfred, you can quickly search and locate a file based on the file name, and then you can directly open the file, or open the folder where the file is located.
"open" keyword, directly search for open files. Enter the keyword "open" to find a file based on a specific file name, and then press the Enter key to open the file directly,
Or directly press the Space key, followed by the file name string, the above operations can also be performed, and this is faster.
