stm32cubeMX library file installation path custom setting - free up my C drive space (the path cannot be modified, there is a solution in the article)

Recently, the space capacity of the C drive is insufficient, so I studied how to remove some files from the C drive.

The default storage path of the stm32cubeMX firmware package under win10 and win7 systems is: " C:\Users\username\STM32Cube\Repository ".
Because some STM32Cube_FW firmware packages take up a lot of space, it cannot be ignored. For example, "stm32cube_fw_f7_v190.zip" takes up 573M, and the unzipped folder takes up 1.73G. Over time, it will be quite impressive. There are more than 8G in my folder.

The space on the C drive is precious, so try not to put large files on the C drive. We store these temporarily downloaded files in other disks. On the one hand, it frees up space on the C drive, and on the other hand, it is also convenient for backup and storage. In case the system crashes one day, the downloaded data will not be lost.

Not much to say, the last step:

1. Open the STM32Cubemx software and click Updater Settings under Help.
Note: Do not open the project file, if it is open, please close the project file, otherwise the path cannot be modified in step 2.

2. Click Settings, click Browse to modify the path. Change the default path, to the path you want to replace.

3. Just move the files of the original firmware library to the new path, and then delete the folder under the default path: " C:\Users\username\STM32Cube\Repository ".
