  • Annotate tab Markup panel (All Markups)

The attributes associated with the tag are displayed in the schedule.

about tags

Each category in the family library has a tag . Some tags are loaded automatically with the default Revit templates, while others need to be loaded manually. If desired, you can create your own tags in the Family Editor by creating an Annotation Symbol Family. Additionally, multiple tags can be loaded for a family.

About marking labels

After the tag is created, a label is added to show the value of the required element parameter. When tags are loaded and placed in a project, these labels display the value of the object's corresponding parameter.

For example, if the label is set to display "Element Type Name", the tag will display the type name of each labeled element. Some parameters, such as type names, are automatically updated by Revit, while others, such as annotations, are user-defined.

Edit tags where markers have been placed

Tags are edited in the family editor. Select the tag and click Modify | <Element> Tag tab Mode panel (Edit Family) to open the Family Editor for editing the tag in the tag's family.

Edit parameter values using marker labels

Edit the value of an element parameter on the Properties palette, or, if the parameter in the tag's label is editable, the tag becomes a control when selected. Click on the selected tag to edit the parameter value.

About Shared Label Parameters

Tags can be configured using shared external parameters from other families.

Configure shared parameters first, then move them to the Label Parameters window. The Category Parameters control helps with this integration.

  •  Add parameters. Click this button to enter the Parameter Properties dialog.

For the "General Annotation" family, you can use the "Add Parameter" button to introduce new family parameters into the "General Annotation" family.

  •  Edit parameters. Click this button to enter the Parameter Properties dialog for editing the selected parameter.

  •  Remove parameters. Click this button to delete the selected family parameter.

NOTE: A deleted shared parameter will be deleted from all shared labels.
