With the rapid development of emerging digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and big data, the pace of digital labor application practice is accelerating, and the proportion of digital economy based on digital productivity and digital creativity is increasing year by year.

In recent years, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) has become a hot spot for the transformation and development of many industries. With its high landing efficiency and fast return on investment, RPA continues to create value for users. The prosperity and progress of related industries has become It is one of the important silhouettes of the digital transformation and development of the whole society.

The rapid development of the RPA industry is inseparable from the efforts and mutual cooperation of technology suppliers, product application parties, and industry service providers. Challenges in technology supply, delivery implementation, and security management have become increasingly prominent.

First, the functions of some RPA products cannot fully meet the actual needs of users in all scenarios.

Second, users face a wide variety of RPA products with different functions in the market, and it is difficult to accurately choose services that meet their own development needs.

Third, most users lack a standardized and systematic deployment plan for the implementation of RPA projects, and the delivery quality cannot be effectively guaranteed.

Fourth, in the face of the new working mode of man-machine coexistence, the management and operation pressure of users is increasing. Fifth, the safety and risk management issues of RPA tools, usage scenarios, and execution operations have not received enough attention, and security risks have increased, and the pressure on operation and maintenance has increased. Both RPA technology research and development and application practice need the escort of authoritative standard evaluation system.

01 Build a standard system to accelerate industry development

Since 2019, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology has started research work in the direction of RPA, and has established the first RPA standard system in China-"Robotic Process Automation Capability Evaluation Method" in conjunction with more than 70 key companies in the industry.

The series of standards includes five parts: system and tools, delivery and implementation, continuous operation, service capability, security and risk management. A multi-dimensional standard framework is built around RPA technology, application, operation, security and other elements, covering the entire life cycle of RPA services. The current standard Parts 1, 2, 3, and 5 of the system have been finalized in stages.

02 Carry out evaluation tests to help improve energy efficiency

In order to effectively implement the guiding significance of the RPA series of standards and serve the development needs of enterprises in technology research and development, application practice, etc., the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology has carried out evaluation and testing work based on the standards, and four types of testing items are now open:

1)RPA交付实施能力评测项目。面向RPA用户、厂商开展测试,从RPA项目的立项与需求分析、项目的管理与实施方法、交付与验收流程等方面开展测试。该项测试将有利于规范RPA部署进程,提升服务效率与质量;

2)RPA持续运营能力评测项目。面向RPA用户开展测试,从RPA项目的管理与运营监控、运营与稳定保障、业绩成果评价等方面分模块开展测试。该项测试将有助于规范RPA运营进程,进一步提升RPA应用成效;

3)RPA系统和工具能力评测项目。面向RPA用户、厂商开展测试,从RPA系统的开发测试、工作执行、管理监控、AI能力四个方面分模块开展测试,面向用户评估应用成熟度,面向厂商评估产品能力;

4)RPA安全和风险管理能力评测项目。面向RPA用户、厂商开展测试,从RPA系统的工具安全管理、环境安全管理、业务安全管理三个方面分模块开展测试,面向用户评估应用成熟度,面向厂商评估产品能力。 该项测试将有助于规范RPA应用成效,重点提升RPA工具的安全能力,规范保障运行环境安全性的能力,规范RPA业务操作的安全管理。

目前,中国信通院已完成七批RPA评测工作,三十余家单位通过了各项测试,涉及系统和工具开发测试、工作执行、管理监控、AI能力四个模块,持续运营运营管理、运营保障、运营成效三个模块,交付实施交付能力、实施能力两个模块。其中,共有十家单位的产品/应用/项目通过了全能力域评测,评测通过情况如图所示。
