The new iOS16 beta version has been released, let’s talk about the method of directly upgrading iOS16 on the iPhone (the upgrade process of iPad OS is consistent with this article)
Considerations Before Upgrading
1 Please charge the device to more than 80% before upgrading
2 Back up important data, such as contacts and text messages, WeChat chat records, photos
3 This version is currently a beta version, and there may be unexpected bugs. It is not recommended for novices to try (the official version will be released in September)
iOS16 supported models
iOS16 supports iPhone8 and later models , that is to say, iPhone7 series and below models cannot be upgraded to iOS16
For iPad OS, the supported models are as follows
upgrade steps
first step
Delete masked files
If your iPhone/iPad has installed the previous internal test file, you need to delete it first (if not, go directly to the next step). Go to Settings - General - Description File and Device Management - find the file named tvOS or iOS15, delete it
second step
Add iOS16 internal beta description file
We need to add a description file to participate in the internal test. After adding, Apple will automatically push each new version of iOS16 to your mobile phone
Reply to "upgrade" to get the file according to the method in the picture below . The iPad OS is also the same file, then copy the address and open it with the built-in Safari browser, click to allow the installation
third step
Upgrade to iOS16
Then enter the system settings - general - description file, you will see the downloaded description file, click install in the upper right corner
After the installation is complete, go to Settings-General-Software Update, and you will receive the iOS16 system push. The installation process takes about 30 minutes. After the installation is complete, start to enjoy the new version.
About power consumption/endurance
Since this system was just released early this morning, various power consumption conditions need to be further tested. In the future, we will bring comparison tests of battery life, power consumption, and running scores of various versions and models of iOS16, so stay tuned.
