01. New project and basic operation of Cadence usage records (schematic drawing: OrCAD Capture CIS)

I went to study electromagnetic fields for my master's degree, and I wrote some blogs to record the learning process.

I heard about Cadence when I was an undergraduate, but AD was used for dry circuit diagrams and boards at that time. When I was a master, I learned electromagnetic field simulation and used ADS, so I took the time to learn the use of Cadence. It is said that this software is very NB, because many particularly complicated circuit diagrams are drawn using this software, such as the motherboard of a computer. I have done a lot of drawing board software before, such as AD, ADS, proteus and so on. Now I will try the power of Cadence.

2 Schematic drawing software OrCAD Capture CIS

The reason why Cadence software is difficult to use is that its various modules are scattered, and different design steps need to be completed with different software. You don't have to be scared off by the many exes, and you can learn after using them. Here we first introduce the schematic drawing software Capture CIS, here my version is 17.4:

Open the software and the following interface will appear:

3 OrCAD Capture CIS new project

Select File-》New-》Project to create a new project:

set the directory and name of the project, here it is directly named Learn01, in addition, if you want to simulate the schematic diagram, you need to check Enable PSpice Sim..., this is a schematic diagram simulation application, here we do not check:

Click OK to get a new project, you can see that there is a default schematic diagram, and there is a Page1:

If you need to create a new page, you can right-click the schematic diagram that needs to add pages, select New Page in the pop-up window, and click OK:

Create three pages directly here as an example:

In the same way, select the project directory, right-click to select New Schematic, and click OK to create:

What to do if you need to modify the Page size of the schematic diagram, select the Page to be modified and right click, select Schematic Page Properties: the

default unit is Inches:

first switch to millimeters, and then select the size you want, select here For A4 paper:

You can also modify the size of the grid in the Grid Reference interface, but generally this will use the default one:

7 OrCAD Capture CIS Global Preferences (modify the default displayed toolbar and background color, etc.)

Modify the default toolbar View->Toolbar. If any menu bar is accidentally closed, you can reopen it from here:

modify the global preferences Here, open the Preferences in the Options of the menu bar:

modify the color in the Colors interface Configuration, it is recommended that you set it to Dark, which is better for the eyes. Of course, you can also modify the specific color:

you can set the global grid display in the Grid Display, and set the grid display as points or lines:

other options are not introduced, and you can explore them in actual operation.
