Final speech in The King's Speech

In this grave hour, perhaps the most fateful in history, I send to every household of my people, both at home and overseas, this message, spoken with the same depth of feeling for each one of you as if I were able to cross your threshold and speak to you myself.
In this solemn moment, perhaps the most vital in the history of this nation, I send this message to every single one of you, wherever you are: For what you are suffering, I am I feel the same way, and I even hope to go door-to-door and tell you in person.
For the second time in the lives of most of us, we are at war. Most of

The selfish and greedy pursuit of power can recklessly violate agreements and commitments: it is a doctrine that approves the use of force or the threat of force against other sovereign states.

This is the ultimate issue which confronts us. For the sake of all that we ourselves hold dear, and of the world order and peace, it is unthinkable that we should refuse to meet the challenge.
This is our ultimate test. In order to defend all that we hold dear, and for the sake of peace and order in the world, we should accept this challenge without hesitation.

In this grave hour, perhaps the most fateful in history,I send to every household of my peoples, both at home and overseas, this message, spoken with the same depth of feeling for each one of you as if I were able to cross your threshold and speak to you myself.

In this solemn moment, perhaps the most vital in the history of this nation, I send a message to every single one of you, wherever you may be: I feel for what you are suffering, and I even wish I could go door-to-door Go from house to house and speak to you personally.

For the second time in the lives of most of us, we are at war.

Most of us will experience the second war in our lifetime.

Over and over again, we have tried to find a peaceful way out of the differences betweenourselves and those who are now our enemies;but it has bee in vain.

We have tried more than once to settle our disputes with our enemies through a peaceful means, but it was all in vain.

We have been forced into a conflict, for which we are called, with our allies to meet thechallenge of a principle which, if it were to prevail, would be fatal to any civilized order in the world.

We have been drawn into a war in which we and our allies are being challenged by fascism, which, if it prevails, will mortally destroy the civilized order of the world.

It is a principle which permits a state in the selfish pursuit of power to disregard its treatiesand its solemn pledges, which sanctions the use of force or threat of force against the sovereignty and independence of other states.

It is a doctrine that allows a country to recklessly violate agreements and commitments because of its selfish and greedy pursuit of rights: a doctrine that approves the indiscriminate use of force, or the threat of force, against other sovereign states.

Such a principle, stripped of all disguise, is surely the mere primitive doctrine that might isright, and if this principle were established through the world, the freedom of our own country and of the whole British Commonwealth of nations would be in danger.

Such a doctrine, after stripping off the cloak of hypocrisy, is left with only primitive ambition. If such a doctrine takes hold on a global scale, the liberties of the people of this country and all Commonwealth countries will be at risk.

But far more than this, the peoples of the world would be kept in bondage of fear, and allhopes of settled peace and of security, of justice and liberty, among nations, would be ended.

What is even more frightening is that people all over the world will be enslaved by fear, and people's yearning for "peace", "stability", "justice" and "freedom" will come to an end.
