In the windows system, sometimes when we want to modify a certain file, the following prompt appears:
The operation could not be completed because the file or folder in it is already open in another program.
Please close the file or folder and try again
The reason for the prompt above is that the file or folder we want to modify is occupied by other programs , and the occupied program needs to be closed.
So what do you need to find the program that occupies the file?
The first step is to open the windows task manager
Move the mouse to the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, then right-click and select Start Task Manager

In Task Manager, select Performance -> Resource Monitor
Enter the occupied file or folder name to search
Enter the file or folder name in the search box behind the associated handle, and press Enter
You can see the name of the occupying program, and the full path to the file (handle name).
If you want to close it, you only need to click the selected file with the left mouse button, and then right click to end the process.
