Since its official full-scale launch on February 17, 2022, the "Digital from East to Count from West" project has passed its first anniversary. More than a year of practical exploration has proved that the activation of data elements and the promotion of computing power as the core productivity are inseparable from "storage power first". Among them, the integration of eastern and western storage capabilities is a necessary condition to support the full-scenario application of "East Counting and West Computing".

On May 9th, at the "Seminar on the Development of Data Storage Capacity under the East and West Computing", we cooperated with Wuhan Optoelectronics National Research Center of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China Computer Industry Association Information Storage and Security Committee, and CCID Consulting Co., Ltd. Experts in various fields of industry, academia and research have emphasized that in the digital economy, computing power and storage power are inseparable and complementary.

East and west calculations have opened up multiple digital business scenarios and stimulated a wealth of application requirements. To transform the huge "numbers" from a burden to a boost, and to maximize the benefits of the powerful "calculations", the data and computing power of the east and west must be able to To connect and flow, this requires integrated storage capacity.

The digitalization process is accelerating, and the amount of data is increasing exponentially. To save valuable massive data for further analysis and processing, it must first be able to "save it", which puts forward higher requirements for storage capacity and performance.

2. The demand for "flowable".

Professor Wu Fei from the Wuhan Optoelectronics National Research Center of Huazhong University of Science and Technology shared that there is a data "Hu Huanyong line" in the east and west calculations. Data migration requires a fusion architecture that integrates storage, computing, and transmission.

3. The need to "use well".

In the final analysis, data needs to be used. The complexity of business applications in the intelligent age also brings additional challenges to storage. One is diversity, the storage requirements of upper-layer applications and data loads are different; the other is ubiquitous, as there are more and more digital business scenarios, storage capacity must meet all-scenario applications in various fields, and must be based on performance, security, energy consumption, service, and operation.
