Recently, Didi Autopilot and GAC Aian New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. signed a deepening cooperation agreement to jointly release the unmanned new energy mass-produced vehicle project - "AIDI Plan", and announced the establishment of a joint venture company. This will be the first time in China to promote the large-scale mass production of unmanned new energy vehicles in the form of joint ventures between self-driving companies and vehicle manufacturers.

This is the first time that the two parties have announced the progress of their cooperation since Didi Autonomous Driving and GAC Aian signed a strategic cooperation in 2021. According to the AIDI plan, Didi Autopilot and GAC Aian will establish a joint venture company to give full play to their respective industrial and technological advantages, deeply discuss product innovation and application innovation in the field of smart cars, and jointly define and mass-produce shared travel L4 driverless new energy Automobiles, promoting the ecological construction of driverless travel at full speed. The AIDI plan implies the complementarity of GAC's AION Intelligence and Didi's autonomous driving intelligence (DiDi Intelligence), as well as the integration of artificial intelligence (Artificial Intelligence) and driver intelligence (Driver Intelligence).
The first mass-produced model will be based on GAC Aion's AEP3.0 high-end pure electric exclusive platform, Protoss high-end electronic and electrical architecture and industry-leading multi-integrated perception autonomous driving mass production technology, equipped with Didi's autonomous driving L4 urban generalization engine and unique autonomous driving technology solutions for travel services. Combining Didi's self-driving unmanned operation system Huiju Port and the experience in the field of travel, the two parties will jointly create safe, reliable, comfortable and low-cost unmanned new energy vehicles based on the real needs of users.
The mass-produced car will be connected to Didi's shared travel network in 2025, realizing all-weather, large-scale mixed order dispatching, and promoting the accelerated implementation of L4 commercialization. The joint venture company will also cooperate with Didi Chuxing and GAC Group's investment companies in the application of results to jointly accelerate industry progress.
