The cross-chain integration of Moonbeam and Equilibrium brings Multichain bridged cross-chain assets into Equilibrium

Moonbeam, the preferred destination for multi-chain applications on Polkadot, announced the integration of cross-chain interconnection contracts with Equilibrium , introducing Multichain bridged cross-chain assets into Equilibrium through Moonbeam. The community-approved two-way HRMP channel between Moonbeam and Equilibrium enables GLMR, EQ Token, and EQD stablecoins to move between chains, and already supports bridging liquidity from outside the Polkadot ecosystem, demonstrating the power of Moonbeam’s interconnected contract strategy potential.

Recently, an XCM connection was established between Moonbeam and Equilibrium through the use of a bidirectional HRMP channel. The integration registers Equilibrium’s native Token EQ and EQD stablecoins as xcEQ and xcEQD respectively, and allows them to be used on the Moonbeam network. In addition, GLMR Token can also be used for Equilibrium. This XCM integration is the basis for Moonbeam Routed Liquidity (MRL) routed liquidity, where Moonbeam acts as a router, bringing liquidity from external blockchains like Ethereum into Polkadot parachains.

Equilibrium is a Substrate-based DeFi protocol parachain on Polkadot that combines highly leveraged money markets and order book decentralized exchanges (DEXs) with margin trading. Equilibrium provides on-chain price disclosure and system-wide insurance by enabling participants to decouple and transfer volatility risk and price risk from borrowers to insurers. Access to Ethereum and other non-Substrate-based assets is important to Equilibrium's scalability and stability.

As a fully EVM-compatible parachain, Equilibrium is able to design smart contracts to access functions on remote blockchains through integrated cross-chain messaging, enabling Moonbeam users to bring assets and liquidity to Equilibrium through Moonbeam’s Multichain connection . Use cases for cross-chain interconnected contracts continue to be built and implemented, improving user experience and ecosystem connectivity in new ways.
