Passive routing protocols:
Any network-layer address provides information that packets can be sent from one computer to another based on the addressing scheme. Does not automatically search for networks, requires manual configuration, once all routers know about all networks, passive routers can be used to send packets, IP and IPV6 are passive routing protocols
Active routing protocol:
A protocol that routers dynamically discover all networks on the Internet, ensuring that all routers have the same routing table. With RIPV1\\\\v2
